12 pieces peeled and deveined raw shrimp 21/25
1 clove of fresh garlic- minced fine
1 tablespoon (14 ml) extra virgin olive oil
½ ounce (15 grams) paprika
1 teaspoon (10 grams) curry powder
6 slices of lean smoked bacon- cut in half lengthwise (approx. 7 cm in size)
6 mini toothpicks or skewers

1 ounce (30 ml) maple syrup
1 tablespoon (14 ml) Tabasco Sauce

Pre-heat an oven to 350-degrees F.  Toss the raw shrimp with the olive oil, paprika and curry powder.  Wrap each of the seasoned shrimp with the bacon slices and secure with a mini-toothpick.  Place the wrapped shrimp onto a small baking tray.  In a separate small mixing bowl, combine the maple syrup with the Tabasco, brush each of the wrapped shrimp with the Tabasco- Maple syrup and bake in the oven until golden brown – approximately 6-8 minutes.  Remove from heat and serve.
Option- replace the shrimp with fresh peaches or dried dates.
